natural beauty and some of the excellent conservation work taking place in the area.
MOHOLOHOLO - WILDLIFE REHABILITATION CENTRE
Situated in the shadow of the majestic "Mariepskop" this unique conservancy is home to many wild animals.  A visit to the Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation centre is an unforgettable experience. A wide variety of birds and animals can be seen here, where Brian Jones and his team nurture the injured and orphaned, rehabilitating them for release back to the wild wherever possible.
Those that are not so fortunate, due to the nature and extent of their injuries, are cared for in captivity to educate the many people who visit Moholoholo each year. Guided tours through the Centre bring visitors in close contact with both common and rare species such as the Crowned and Martial eagles, Owls & Vultures as well as Serval, Wild Dogs, Lions, Leopard and many other animals and birds.
The Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre at Moholoholo contributes to the conservation of endangered species and the rehabilitation of injured and poisoned wildlife. Moholoholo also facilitates a number of successful breeding programs.
HELICOPTER FLIGHTS - CASCADES & CANYON SPECTACULAR
This exhilarating flight swoops over deep canyons bursting with vegetation and colour.
The Jetranger lingers above cascading waterfalls, allowing for spectacular photographic opportunities. Your flight will continue along the escarpment to God's Window, which offers awesome panoramic views of the bushveld below and onto the fascinating and dramatic rock formations of the 1000-metre-deep, 30-kilometre-long Blyde River Canyon, and (the third deepest & greenest canyon in the World). You will have a bird's eye view of the curious Three Rondavels. Landing at a sight with magnificent views of the Mpumalanga Lowveld, you will be served a delicious picnic accompanied by fine South African sparkling wine.

Two and a half hour round trip that departs from the Royal Malewane Airstrip
(15 minutes from the lodge)
HOT AIR BALLOON FLIGHTS
FLIGHTS OVER THE AFRICAN WILDERNESS
Experience the magic of lighter-than-air flight over the Lowveld Big Game areas adjoining the Kruger National Park.  When game is spotted, the rather noisy main burners will be switched over to a "whisper" burner so as not to disturb the animals.

Meeting before Sunrise coffee is served while you watch your 8 storey high balloon being inflated and prepared for flight. The Pilot will give you a safety briefing and get you airborne in time to witness the sunrise. Seeking favourable winds, you will change altitude and drift gently over the landscape below.
After about an hours flight, the pilot will select a suitable landing site where the recovery crew will be in attendance. Sparkling wine and fruit juice is served during or after the flight, depending on the weather.

If weather conditions don't permit a flight on the day of your booking, you are entitled to a full refund.
GOLF
GOLF SAFARI TO HANS MERENSKY GOLF ESTATE
A challenging 18 hole, Par 72 Championship Golf Course, where crocodile and hippo add spice to the normal "hazards" of a good game of golf.  Enjoy this unique course, which extends over a vast area of indigenous bush, interspersed with tranquil pools and velvet greens.
HORSE RIDING SAFARIS
The horse trails are conducted on the beautiful Moholoholo Mountain View Game Reserve bordering the Blyde River Canyon. The Reserve is home to a vast variety of animals and birds such as eland, giraffe, kudu, wildebeest, klipspringer, warthog, impala, hippo, duiker and nyala. Beginners, intermediate and advanced riders are welcome. It is advisable to wear comfortable clothing, long trousers and shoes with rubber soles. A maximum of 6 riders per group allows your guide to pay personal attention to each rider. Private horse riding safaris are also available (at an additional cost).
Please bear in mind that the departure site is very rustic and there are no ablution facilities.
MAPUSHA WEAVERS COMMUNITY TOUR
Mapusha Weavers is a small group of local Shangaan and Mapulaneng Sotho women from the community of Rooiboklaagte in the nearby village of Acornhoek.  Mapusha Weavers' women's empowerment project began in 1973 after two sisters were sent by the Acornhoek Catholic Mission for training in weaving and spinning.  All of their products (rugs, tapestries, bags, etc.) are entirely hand-made and unique.  The women spin and dye the textile (wool or cotton) themselves and carefully weave each piece according to inspiration or custom-ordered designs. Emerencia Mohlolo, the daughter of an original Mapusha Weavers' member and a weaver herself, will guide you through the 30-year history of the project that not only brought two cultures together to create woven masterpieces, but also to support their families and relatives.
You will meet the women at work in their rural studio, after which you
will join Emerencia on a short drive to visit Miriam Mabila, a Sangoma (a traditional healer) with her students training to become Sangomas. You will have a chance to ask Miriam questions, and she will share with you the spirit of the ancestors.  Continue on by vehicle to the home of Sarah, a local mud bowl maker, to learn how she utilizes the soil of Rooiboklaagte to mould her products, and leave the vehicle behind to join Emerencia on a short walk along the winding footpaths of her community.  During this time you will visit Joseph, a local grass weaver, Thoko at her Shabeen (an African bar where home brewed
beer is sold) and Mrs. Virginia Sithole and the children of the Katlego Community Creche.
ELEPHANT-BACK SAFARIS
In March 2002 Zimbabwe prepared for an election and due to the invasion of farms by war veterans the future of a group of 12 trained elephants was in jeopardy. A rescue mission was launched by Lente Roode and her team and the elephants were successfully relocated to the safe haven of Camp Jabulani

During your Elephant-back Safari you will be seated on a comfortable canvas covered saddle, mounted behind an experienced elephant handler. We welcome you to this unforgettable experience and you will soon discover that the elephants enjoy the ride as much as you do. This dreamlike adventure offers magical moments as well as the opportunity to come in close contact with wildlife. Your Elephant-back Safari of approximately an hour and twenty minutes will also include a talk on elephant behaviour and refreshments afterwards. Please note that clients are requested to sign an indemnity form and that this activity is not available to children under the age of 12 years. The 12 elephants can carry a maximum of 18 pax between them at any one time.
