ITINERARY
Day 1:
Arrival at the Hosea Kutako International Airport. Collect your vehicle and drive to your hotel in Windhoek (approx.42 km). At the reception all necessary vouchers for your tour through Namibia will be available.
View Windhoek’s many attractions like the “Alte Feste (old fort) or the “Tintenpalast” (Ink Palace).

Day 2:
Drive direction airport and then turn right and proceed in southerly direction via Dordabis, Uhlenhorst and Hoachanas. Continue on the C21 in the direction to Kalkrand, after approx. 10 km turn left into D1268 and reach after approx. 39 km on the left hand side the entrance to the Ranch (approx. 270 km)

Day 3:
Today you drive to Keetmanshoop passing Mariental. From there further on via Holoog to the Cañon Lodge, which is situated near the Fish River Canyon (approx. 420 km).
From the main view-point (approx. 20 km from the Lodge) of the Fish River Canyon you can view the awesome grandeur of the canyon. (Better to do the visit in the early morning)

Day 4:
Drive via Aus to Lüderitz (approx. 410 km). The harbour town of Lüderitz, set between the Namib Desert dunes and the wild Atlantic seaboard, was founded by the Bremen merchant, Adolf Lüderitz in 1883.

Day 5:
Today is spent at leisure. Take the time to explore this town with its historic buildings and the ghost town of Kolmanskop, which was founded during the time of the Diamond rush. This town is situated only some kilometres away, and is slowly being immersed in the encroaching desert sand. Permits to visit Kolmanskop must be obtained in Lüderitz at the office of Lüderitz Safaris & Tours in Bismarckstreet beforehand. The surrounding landscape, with its bizarre coastlines, offshore islands and the Bogenfels (rock arch) is especially fascinating. Boat trips are available to Halifax Island, where Penguins can be observed.

Day 6 + 7:
Continue your journey via Aus to Namtib Desert Lodge. Just after Aus turn left into the C13, after another 55 km turn left again into D707 and drive along the edge of the Namib Desert for about 47 km, where you see the sign “Namtib Desert Lodge”. Turn right and after some kilometres you will reach your destination, the ideal vacation spot for the nature lover.

Day 8:
During the morning you proceed to Sesriem. Rest of the day at leisure or you can book a sundowner drive.

Day 9:
Take part in an excursion into the famous Sossusvlei, a huge clay- pan that is surrounded by the highest dunes in the world. Here you will have the opportunity to ascend one of these huge dunes, a worthwhile experience. Enjoy breakfast packs under age-old Camelthorn trees admits the dune landscape. Game such as Oryx, Springbok and Ostrich, which are found here, have adapted to these arid conditions.
Return to the Lodge and drive via Solitaire to the Rostock Ritz Desert Lodge. (ca. 145 km)

Day 10:
After breakfast depart to your next destination, the coastal town of Swakopmund. Your drive takes you via the Gaub and Kuiseb Passes, and onto Walvis Bay, which is the only deep-sea harbour in Namibia. Pay a visit to the lagoon, a bird paradise where thousands of flamingos can be seen. Proceed to Swakopmund along the coast for approximately another 35 km. (approx. 210 km)

Day 11:
Spent the day at leisure and make use of this time to discover the coastal town Swakopmund.

Optional: Dolphin Cruise: which starts from the Walvis Bay Yacht Club, takes you through the harbour and lagoon area. If in luck, Dolphins may be observed swimming alongside the boat. Seals and a myriad of sea birds can also be observed. On board the boat you will be treated to South African sparkling wine or soft drinks, fresh oysters and snacks. This activity should be booked in advance.
Optional:
Sailing excursion aboard a catamaran. Departure at 08h30 from the Walvis Bay Yacht Club. Set sail for Pelican Point, where a large Seal colony and playful Dolphins will entertain you. The trip is rounded off with fresh oysters, snacks and sparkling wine. The cruise last between 2 ½ – 3 hours. This activity should be booked in advance.
Optional: Pick up at your hotel. Start of your half-day tour into the Namib
Desert, the Moon Valley and the Welwitschia mirabilis plain.

Day 12:
Return to Windhoek via Usakos, Karibib and Okahandja (approx. 360 km). At Okahandja you can visit the Kavango wood carver’s market, the old cemetery of the German “Schutztruppe”, the Herero graves or the ostrich and crocodile farm Ombo.

Return your rental car. Transfer to the Hosea Kutako International Airport.
