Fully accommodated Guided
Safari, suitable for all healthy people with a reasonable level of
fitness. May include some short walks. The Luxury Okavango Safari travels
with a maximum of seven guests in a specially modified 4x4 safari vehicle,
and is accompanied by an expert CC Africa safari guide throughout. All
meals – from dinner on day one to breakfast on day nine – are included
in the safari fare. Non-premium drinks are included at all Lodges (not
included at Victoria Falls Hotel). Airport transfers at Victoria Falls are
also included. Window seat guaranteed throughout. The upper age limit for this safari is 70 years,
however, clients between the age of 70 and 75 years may be accepted
provided that they produce a medical certificate stating that they are fit
to travel. Minimum age limit is 12 years.
1 & 2: NXABEGA OKAVANGO SAFARI CAMP, OKAVANGO DELTA
arrival at at Maun Airport we are met by an Afro Ventures representative
who will assist us with boarding our light aircraft, which will transfer
you to Nxabega Okavango
Safari Camp in the heart of the Okavango Delta. We are met by our Afro
Ventures guide at Nxabega. Accommodation is in elevated twin-bedded East
African style safari tents with en-suite facilities. Activities include
boating into remote, papyrus-fringed lagoons, exploring the Okavango by
canoe and undertaking nature walks on the pristine islands of the Delta.
We could also try our hand at fishing. The insight and knowledge of our
Afro Ventures guide will add immeasurably to our enjoyment and
understanding of this unique wilderness area, rich in flora and fauna and
world renowned as a paradise for birdwatchers.
3 & 4: KHWAI RIVER LODGE, MOREMI WILDLIFE RESERVE
After breakfast we depart by light aircraft to the Moremi Wildlife Reserve
and Khwai River Lodge, situated on the edge of the Khwai River floodplain
near the north gate of the Reserve. Accommodation at Khwai River lodge is
in comfortable thatched luxury safari tents with en-suite facilities.
Midday may be spent around the lodge and its sparkling swimming pool,
while in the afternoon we explore the northern sector of Moremi on
5 & 6: SAVUTE, CENTRAL CHOBE NATIONAL PARK
Today we negotiate the sandy tracks of the Magwihkwe Sand Ridge into the
Chobe National Park, crossing the pre-historic lakebed of the Mababe
Depression to Savute world renowned for its large concentrations of
game and its strong and stable population of predators. Our stay is at
Savute Elephant Camp, a deluxe 24-bedded lodge overlooking the dry Savute
Channel. Our extensive gameviewing drives are sure to provide us with
excellent game sightings and photographic opportunities. Accommodation is
in luxurious twin bedded tents with private timber decks.
Spacious en-suite facilities have a "his and hers vanity
unit" and a dressing room area. One of the features of the camp is
its specially constructed "elephant proof" swimming pool. Savute
is known for its exciting year-round game viewing and excellent birding.
7: CHOBE CHILWERO, NORTHERN CHOBE NATIONAL PARK
We depart for Northern Chobe National Park and overnight at Chobe Chilwero
in twin-bedded rooms with en-suite facilities. The Lodge overlooks the
floodplain. The main recreational area features a sparkling swimming pool
and elegant lounge. 35 000 Elephant have made Chobe National Park their
home, the largest herds still to be found on the continent. Time is spent
watching and photographing the animals on the banks of the Chobe, and this
evening we undertake a sundowner cruise to feast our eyes on the glory of
the setting sun, while hippo and elephant turn to silhouettes in the face
of the coming night.
8: VICTORIA FALLS HOTEL, VICTORIA FALLS
After an early morning gamedrive and breakfast we leave Chobe and cross
into Zimbabwe to Victoria Falls, known by the locals as "Mosi-oa-tunya"
(The Smoke that Thunders). Accommodation is at the Victoria Falls Hotel,
known for its Edwardian charm, and set in beautiful grounds. The day is
free for us to pursue the various optional excursions available at
Victoria Falls (the Flight of Angels, Traditional Dancing, visit to the
Craft Village and Crocodile Farm). A guided Tour of the Falls is included
in the safari fare.
9: VICTORIA FALLS - SAFARI TERMINATES
Safari terminates after breakfast. A transfer is included from the Hotel,
to Victoria Falls Airport .
